Prehnite
The pale yellow-green stone sometimes called the pearl of prophecy — prehnite opens the heart to know without needing to understand.
Overview
Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate with a distinctive pale yellow-green to apple-green color. It often occurs with visible epidote inclusions that appear as black threads. Major sources include South Africa (the original discovery site), Australia, China, Mali, and the United States. With a Mohs hardness of 6-6.5, it is reasonably durable.
Prehnite was the first mineral to be named after a person — Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who discovered it in South Africa in the 1780s. Historically used in European jewelry and carving.
Energetically, prehnite is traditionally called the stone of unconditional love and the prophecy stone. It is associated with heart-centered intuition and peaceful divination.
