How I came to this work
I started reading tarot fourteen years ago, and I haven’t stopped since.
I came to tarot sideways, during a stretch of my life that felt too blurry to think through. I wasn’t looking for predictions. I was looking for a way to be honest with myself about what was actually happening — and I didn’t have one yet.
The first deck I worked with was a Rider-Waite-Smith a friend left at my apartment. I pulled cards for myself quietly for a long time before I pulled them for anyone else. The practice taught me to slow down, to name what I already sensed, and to stop narrating around feelings instead of sitting inside them. When people around me started noticing that something had shifted in how I talked about hard things, they started asking me to read for them.
I said yes carefully, and then more often, and then as a real part of my week. That was 2012. I have been reading professionally ever since.
How I practice
I don’t read tarot as fortune-telling. I read it as a structure for noticing — a slow, deliberate way of taking what you’re already carrying and laying it out where you can actually look at it. The cards don’t make the decisions. You do. My job in a reading is to keep you steady while you hear what you already know.
My reading style pulls from three lineages. First, classical tarot in the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition — suits, numerology, elemental correspondences, and the Fool’s journey as a map of initiation. Second, somatic and nervous-system-aware counselling practices I’ve trained in over the last decade, because no piece of insight helps a body that’s already in fight-or-flight. Third, my own cultural lineage — born into a Hindu household, raised around mantra, ritual, and the everyday understanding that the sacred lives inside ordinary life, not somewhere above it.
I work with spellwork, herbal correspondence, crystal practice, and candle magic as supporting instruments — never as replacements for therapy, medicine, or the honest human conversations that actually change a life. If you come to me in crisis, the first thing I will tell you is who to call. Tarot is not triage.
My practice is slow on purpose. A typical private reading is sixty minutes, because most of the value lives in the fifteenth minute after the spread is laid, when the obvious thing has been said and we can start asking what else is true.
Ethics of this practice
What I will and won’t do in a reading
- I do not predict death or timing of death. Ever. For any reason.
- I do not read on third parties without their knowledge. I will read on your question about a relationship, not about what someone else is secretly thinking.
- I do not read for clients who are actively in crisis. I will hand you a crisis resource and a kind goodbye.
- I do not claim to override medicine. If a reading seems to be pointing at a medical issue, I will say it gently and then recommend a doctor.
- I do not curse-lift, remove spirits, or claim to rescue you from generational damnation. Any reader who does is taking your money.
- I will tell you the hard thing. Kindly, specifically, and only after I’m sure I’m right. But I will tell you.
What clients say
“Omkar reads without performance. He said the thing I was avoiding in the first ten minutes, and then he stayed with me while I figured out what to do about it.”
“The first reader I've worked with who didn't try to impress me. Just specific, kind, and right.”
“I booked a session the week I was about to quit my job. We didn't talk about the job. We talked about why I was running. That conversation changed the next two years of my life.”
“You can tell he's been doing this a long time. Nothing feels scripted. Nothing feels mystical-theater. It's just… a real conversation with someone who sees clearly.”
“I came in a skeptic. I left with a to-do list for my grief that I actually followed.”
“Omkar was the only reader who told me what I didn't want to hear. I needed it. I've been back twice since.”
“Steady in a way that's hard to describe until you've sat across from it. I recommend him to friends in hard seasons.”
“He reads with his whole attention. Not half of it. Not performance of it. The whole thing. That's rare.”
“I had been to four tarot readers before Omkar. He's the only one I kept going back to.”
“I didn't realize how much I'd been talking around the question until he asked it directly. Still think about that session.”
The library
The guides on this site — the crystal entries, dream symbols, spells, herbs, numerology meanings, tarot cards, angel numbers — are all written by me, from the work itself. 1,200+ entries. Each one draws on specific readings, specific client questions, and specific outcomes I’ve watched unfold. Nothing is boilerplate. Nothing is scraped. Nothing is ghostwritten. If a page has my name on it, I wrote it.
I write in the same voice I use in a session: steady, specific, and willing to say the uncomfortable thing when it’s true. I update entries when my understanding deepens — the “Last updated” date on each page is real.
If you want to work together
I keep my practice small.
If a private session feels right, the page below has availability and what to expect. If you’re new, try Lucky’s AI Tarot first — it’s free and gives you a real taste of how I think about a question.
